About Shannon
Shannon Guillaume is the Founder and CEO of Amazing Adventures Childcare, LLC also known as Amazing Adventures. She is currently the preschool teacher and licensed provider of Amazing Adventures Preschool and Kindergarten Readiness Program. Shannon sets the early childhood education foundation for children, ages 2 through 5 years. She encourages early learning while teaching vital skills that toddlers and preschool age children need before entering kindergarten. She is a firm believer that learning-through-peer play, hands-on activities and consistent routines are necessary for children before they enter Kindergarten. Children learn the basics of these social skills and much more at Amazing Adventures. The skills of number and letter recognition, counting, and identifying how to spell their first and last names are just a few basics that Shannon teaches eager early learners. Her one-on-one time with each child promotes consistent encouragement that nourishes a child’s abilities, helping to support any difficulties that the child may experience when learning the basic fundamentals of reading, writing and identifying.
In 2017 Shannon worked as a Lead Preschool Teacher. That school-year two of her students entered Kindergarten one year early, as they passed the required county test. After seeing such a major accomplishment for her students, she began to understand her potential to prepare countless more children to be ready to enter the next level of preschool or kindergarten.
She deeply believes all children should be confident in their ability to recognize their name and at least write or spell it by the time they enter Pre-K or Kindergarten, giving Shannon the drive to help propel the total potential inside each child.
Shannon has worked in the education field for more than 12 years. She started as a Preschool Assistant Teacher in Queens, New York and later became a Preschool Teacher in Maryland (her home town), as well as a Substitute Teacher in grades Kindergarten through Eighth Grade for Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Having three beautiful children of her own, who are now middle and high school age, Shannon knows firsthand how important early childhood development is for young children. She also knows the feeling a parent has, knowing their child has a spark of confidence as they enter grade school. Amazed, she often looks at her former and current students’ progress with fulfillment thinking, “I helped to set the foundation for their lifetime love of learning”
